I begrudgingly trudged over to the mall this evening to pick up an AC adapter for my new keyboard (of the piano variety), and, upon arrival, realized that something was different about the people at the mall. I couldn't explain it, but there was this weird sort of kinship that I couldn't put my finger on and was, therefore, obviously confused by. I rarely identify with fellow shoppers. There were lots of guys. Guys in their early to mid-twenties. Guys in comfortable and at times geeky clothing. Guys with... Convention? Badges?

Then it hit me- I was feeling Gamer Comradery. It took me a few seconds of mental logistics to come up with Oh. March 10. Providence. Gaming. CtrlAltDel's Digital Overload LAN party. Damn it all. Even though I'm fully aware that I don't do enough PC gaming to legitimize my ass at a LAN party, I still felt all whimpery and excluded the moment I realized what it was I was missing out on. I had (smartly) decided not to register a few months back, but now there's nothing more I'd rather do than sit around in a room and play Warcraft and Halo for hours on end.

Must... Resist... Volunteering...!
