Was anyone else aware of the fact that our planet's magnetic field is slowly weakening and is long overdo for a complete reversal? Yeah, well, the reversal (as in magnetic North becomes south, which is awesome...) supposedly happens every 200,000 years, and the last one was 700,000 years ago, so it should be happening in the next few thousand years. Huh.

The only real problem is that during the transition it may get stuck for a while before reversing, thus blessing us with a frighteningly weak magnetic field, double the radiation from the son, and more cancer. Well, at least we'll get Aurora Borealis every night.

Yeah, so beware the huge patch of reversed magnetic field in the southern hemisphere... It BEGINS.
